Part 3 of a series of posts devoted to a subject which is one everyone’s mind: how can I make my home look expensive and not spend a fortune? In this post, I’m going to share the tips specifically devoted to making your bedroom look very upmarket.
Even if you don’t like them, having a headboard would instantly make your bedroom look more luxurious. If you have a headboard already, why not reupholster it? If you decide to have one made, go really big! Instant classic hotel look guaranteed!

Another way to make your bedroom more chic, is to use vintage side tables (like those pictured). What we did here was simply to change the knobs.
Don’t be afraid of experimenting with dark colours, just like we did in this project. It will make the room feel more like a boutique hotel bedroom.

Another trick you could use is to introduce shiny surfaces- like we did in this guest bedroom. Reflective surfaces, such as mirror and metal will add an expensive edge to any bedroom.

Don’t forget about the cushions- carefully selected clusters can transform the look and feel of any bed!

Last, but not least, try to use luxury wallpaper- it will give your walls more opulentand intimate look. If you’d rather not wallpaper the whole room or one wall (which is not recommended for certain rooms anyway), you can always frame a piece of wallpaper, just like we did in this one-bedroom, central Cambridge apartment. Effect guaranteed!
