Kitchens are one of the most challenging spaces to design; it is, at the same time, usually at the heart of every home. It’s where many varied activities take place, the obvious cooking, but also food preparation, food storing, entertaining, dining, chatting, so it has to be very well-designed and thought-through.

I’ve recently been invited to a fabulous, new kitchen showroom Design Republic which is a home to beautifully crafted Italian kitchens- Scavolini. As a designer, I’m always on a look-out for new solutions, especially in kitchens, where aesthetics meet practicality in the most obvious way.

For those who love the idea of having a cooker on the island but are hesitant about the extraction, this is a perfect solution- an extractor from Berber with a regulated height, super extracting power, and pleasant aesthetics which can blend in with any contemporary design.

We love curves! Not only on the island, but also in cabinets!

Katie Malik Interiors love baskets! Especially if they can be very easily accessible and actually don’t waste space! Have a look at these solutions!

Very good use of a relatively small space! And, great use of extra space for cook books and other things you might want to have on display in your kitchen!

Katie Malik Interiors have designed quite a few kitchens (both as independent projects or as part of bigger projects)

but we are particularly proud of the Shaker Style kitchen which was also featured in Ideal Home magazine in February 2016.
